Description
A comprehensive small group approach that guides people into a deeper commitment of holiness
of heart and life resulting in service to Christ, His Church, and the Kingdom of God.
The sessions are Biblical, experiential, personal, customized, interactive, practical,
informative, transformational, and permanent, meaning they will produce ‘lasting fruit,’
as the Bible calls results.
Each session included prayer, singing, Scripture Speaks [key Scriptures as the core teaching],
Key Issues presented for focus, an hour in Quads [groups of four for in-depth application
of leaning], whole class discussion centered around stories or issues from the book, the
next week’s assignment, communion and prayer with someone giving a Witness to the Word,
and closing prayer. The time for each session is 2 and ½ hours.
A Leader’s GuideBook and a Class Member’s GuideBook for a 17-week study on becoming a Kingdom
Person and making the spiritual transformation from casual Christian to complete Christian.
Study is presented in 8 weeks for Part I and 7 weeks for Part II. May be given consecutively
or with break in between parts.
Group size suggested being limited to 20 with a Leader and an Associate Leader with different
responsibilities.
A preparatory study for Wesleyan Class Meetings.
What Leaders Are Saying About
Kingdom People A GuideBook...
“Being a Christian isn’t just a Sunday thing. Being a Christian is a 24/7 lifestyle.
Need a book to spur you toward a deeper faith? Need a practical guide to being a light
for Jesus in your work, your school? Jim and Molly Scott are two folks with a firm grasp
on this truth --- and they show us how to be Kingdom People.”
Max Lucado, Pastor and Author
Kingdom People is the cornerstone of our overall discipleship process. We
began Kingdom People with me leading the first group and a lay person
serving as the Associate Leader. Since KP Group 1 we have had one group led by lay people
and I have personally led two additional groups. Why? Because Kingdom People is
clearly the best investment of my time and energy at Grace. In a nutshell, the Holy Spirit
uses Kingdom People to bring about genuine transformation like nothing
else I've ever seen. People experience accelerated spiritual growth over a condensed period
of time. KP Group 5 is planned to begin fall 2007.
Without exception, participants have commented that "Kingdom People is the
best small group experience I have ever had. I've grown more through Kingdom People than
anything I've ever been in." I agree wholeheartedly because Kingdom People not
only lays a solid biblical foundation for life and faith, it also helps people discover
who God has created them to be and what God has created them to do, as well as giving practical
help for continuing the spiritual growth throughout life. We will continue offering Kingdom
People at Grace with the vision that a large percentage of our members and guests
will experience God in such a life-changing way. Eventually participation in a Kingdom
People small group will be a prerequisite to elected leadership in the church.
